(meteorobs) re C/2001 A2 "debris"...

Mike Linnolt asked about possibility of debris from C/2001 A2 LINEAR given
some sort of meteor shower or such.

I've put the numbers [comet's orbital elements] into a little prog that I
managed to get hold of once [written by a Slovak professional astronomer,
so don't ask me how it works!], and this is what it coughed out::-

where the 'D-DISC' is supposed to be the D criterion of
Southworth&what'shisname.

D values of less than 0.1 are said to be "good", and those of greater than
0.5 quite bad, so I'll leave it for other's to decide.

Note the letters at left denote method used, but I'd have to go away and
look up what they mean. - means "pre-perihelion", + "post-perihelion"...
with an orbit this eccentric, only post-perihelion makes any sense this
year anyway [due to long period of comet].

Basically, the best bets equate to a radiant in Canis Major in mid-July, so
nobody hold there breath :(

Someone else may know different.

Cheers
