(meteorobs) Lyrids report from Hawaii.

I attended the monthly Hawaiian Astronomical Society star party at
Dillingham airfield on Oahu's north shore this evening, and took
advantage of some nice clear skies to observe the Lyrids. The
pacific region was not favored for the Lyrids this year, since the
radiant didnt rise until several hours past the predicted peak time of
0400 UT. Nevertheless some activity was seen, but nothing
spectacular. Only 2 bright and one very faint LYR were seen in 1hr
Teff under LM=6.3 skies (Bortle scale 3). This adjusts to a zenithal
hourly rate of 9.5 for my period 5-6 hours past the peak, about the
same as the background SPO rate. One bright LYR left a sparkler-
like train which lasted a few seconds.
