(meteorobs) Observation May 14/15 2001

Greetings,

Here's a late report... On May 14/15, I headed out to Casselman for a
late evening meteor session. I had the company of Denis Legault who
was doing deep sky objects with his scope. It was a pleasant evening,
relatively mild.

I signed-on for over 2 hours, recording a total of 8 meteors under
magn 6.3 skies. The first hour was a real lull with only 1 sporadic.
The second hour did much better with both sporadics and Alpha
Scorpiids (Sagittarids) active.

Nicest meteor was a white magn 0 Alpha Scorpiid (SAG) moving in Ophiuchus.

Saw an unexpected iridium satellite slowly flaring to magn -3 high in the west.
