(meteorobs) Let Governor Pataki hear your views on Light Pollution!

To all New Yorkers on this list . . . and even those who do not live in
New York . . . I am passing along this VERY IMPORTANT announcement from Phil
Harrington concerning a chance for amateurs to express their opinion
concerning the light pollution problem in New York State. Please spread the
word! -- joe rao

All,

Sorry for the mass mailing, but I thought this was important enough to
alert all amateurs I know who live in NY State.

Tomorrow night, New York's Governor George Pataki will be on WCBS radio
(880 AM) in New York City for his monthly listener call-in broadcast called
"Ask the Governor." One of the issues they will be talking about,
according to the show's promo, will be light pollution and the New York
State "Selene" bill that is currently in the state legislature. I would
strongly urge those who can hear the broadcast to do so (for those in other
parts of the state, it might be simulcast on other stations; I'm not sure),
and to call in with questions/comments about light pollution. More info is
at http://www.wcbs880.com. You can also submit questions via e-mail, then
listen to "Ask The Governor" and hear if your question is asked on the air.
 Send those e-mails to editor88@cbs.com.

This just might make a difference...maybe a BIG difference...in the quality
of New York's skies, since the bill contains very specific requirements for
preventing light trespass, even from one neighbor's yard to another. So,
all you New Yorkers out there: let's hear from you!
