(meteorobs) Meteor Activity Outlook for July 6-12, 2001

The moon is just past full and is now a major nuisance to meteor
observers. Only after the weekend will it begin rising later in the
evening allowing some dark skies immediately following evening twilight.
The morning sky is hopelessly washed out by intense moonlight during
this entire period. The positions listed below are exact for Saturday
night/Sunday morning July 7/8. The positions do not change greatly day
to day so these positions may be used during this entire period. The
detailed individual shower descriptions will return next week when the
moon is much more cooperative.

Alpha Capricornids 19:08 (287) -15
Antihelion 20:00 (300) -20
Pegasids 22:36 (339) +15
Northern Apex 01:00 (015) +21
Southern Apex 01:00 (015) -09

Clear Skies!
