(meteorobs) Re: [meteorite-list] Fireball photo



    These JPeg urls were posted to the meteorite-list.  Unfortunately no
details were provided.  To be useful the following would be required.

1. Time of the photo.
2. Location of where they were taken from.
3. A direction reference point secured with a compass.
4. Elevation reference measured with a protractor device or clinometer.
5. Camera information; focal length of lens, fps if a video frame etc.

    It is nice to see a photo but to be scientifically useful more details
must be provided. Perhaps the photo taker could be interviewed to see if
this information could be obtained.  An avi or MPeg movie would also be
useful so the apparent velocity could be determined.  If another video photo
was available from a different location several kilometres away actual
velocity might be able to be arrived at.  This is important if you want to
obtain the orbit of the object.
