(meteorobs) Quick report on Perseids Aug. 10/11
Perseids from Chiloquin, OR (Latitude 42.576N Longitude 121.867W)
I watched for an hour in the evening and an hour in the morning. Unfortunately, max night looks like it might be clouded and/or smoked out.
August 10/11
Observer: Wes Stone
Hour 1: 5:30-6:32 UT (Teff=1.0, LM=6.5, 10% clouds)
15 Perseids (mean magnitude = 1.6)
8 Sporadics (mean magnitude = 3.1)
Hour 2: 10:20-11:22 UT (Teff=1.0, LM=6.2 [moonlit], 10% obstructed field)
20 Perseids (mean magnitude = 1.9)
7 Sporadics (mean magnitude = 3.1)
1 Kappa Cygnid (magnitude 1)
1 North Delta Aquarid (magnitude 4)
Several negative magnitude Perseids were seen during the counts, but the brightest, a -3 with a violet tinge and a trail for several seconds, was seen in the morning just after I picked up.
