(meteorobs) Perseids from East Ga

I was up all night for the local Perseid max last night and had only
limited success. Most of the night was spent casually observing between the
wispy, small clouds that began drifting through from the northeast aropund 2:15
local time. Prior to that, the skies were transparent and quite clear with LM's
hovering around +6 and the moon no problem and I did get one+ hours worth of
actual observations in. After 3:00 am the moon and the clouds were fully in
control of the situation and I was forced to enjoy what I could.
Many of the Perseids I saw were bright and colorful and I was treated to two
-4's and three -3's among many others in the bright range. I noticed the
lull/clustering phenomena and had long stretches of seeing nothing. Overall,
when adding my casual and non casual counts, I probably saw 80-90 meteors
throughout the night and thus salvaged the perseids again this year. I'll try
to have my single hour of recorded observations posted late today.
