(meteorobs) Perseid Observations August 11/12 from Oregon
I observed the Perseids from Chiloquin, OR on August 11/12 from 0530-0743 UT. Skies were decent despite a bit of smoke and haze. Morning observations had to be canceled due to variable cloudiness, although I did see a few bright Perseids during a casual watch.
Quick Report (full report below):
0530-0634: Teff=1.0, F=1.0, LM=6.3
25 Perseids of mean magnitude 1.6
12 Sporadics of mean magnitude 2.6
1 Kappa Cygnid of magnitude 4
0640-0743: Teff=1.0, F=1.0, LM=6.3
35 Perseids of mean magnitude 2.3
8 Sporadics of mean magnitude 2.6

REMARKS:
There was some smoke and haze in the air due to forest fires, mainly
affecting the lower 20 degrees of the sky. A bank of clouds in the
east, out of my field, was actually helpful in preventing direct
glare after moonrise.
Meteors 27 and 37 may have been associated with the
Northern Apex radiant.
Meteors 20 and 21 may have been Perseids, but were seen at
a large DCV during an LM count.
A point event of magnitude 1 was seen just east of
Beta Aqr at 0619; I could not rule out a satellite.
Meteor 44 may have been a Kappa Cygnid, but was seen at a large
DCV.
Meteor 73 may have come from one of the Aquarid radiants.
Meteor 77 may have been an Alpha Capricornid.
