the blind have been using talking clocks for decades now...
and talking compasses in a number of different languages..

what makes this clock so different??

Bheka Yoga Supplies is a mail-order company that sells a talking timer. I've
never used it, but I'm sure they could tell you more about it. It's a small
family run business, they might hold it up to the phone so you could hear
what it sounds like.  www.bheka.com and search on "timers."
