Actually. although I never use the word in my official reports, I always 
refer to a very fast meteor as a "zipper", which of course are "zippy".
It seems like a natural word. I'd rather see a fast meteor called "zippy"
than a train called a trail, as it often is incorrectly called by observers
who should know better.
