Re: (meteorobs) August 22, 2001 Meteor Observations From California

Thanks for sharing the report, Bob! It encourages others (like me) to
take advantage of whatever clear skies we happen to get this week. :)

Also I wanted to ask a question on the format? I noticed that you're
reporting the Sporadic classifications as separate columns now: I've
generally left those classes in the Comment fields, but it may make
sense (if it works with IMO formats) to start doing as you do. What
do you recommend to the observers whose reports you forward to IMO?

Also another question I wanted to ask is on your Session Summary form:
would it make sense to group all the "Sporadic" numbers into the final
columns? It might make it easier to compare your "classic" (IMO) Spor
rates with those of other observers.

So for example, in your summary for 22 Aug:

>0900-1000 UT 0.91 6.89 1 NDA 1 NPX 1 PER 1 SPX 11 SPO 15 TOTAL
>1000-1100 UT 0.88 6.70 3 NDA 1 NIA 5 PER 3 SPX 7 SPO 19 TOTAL
>1100-1200 UT 0.85 6.56 2 KCG 3 NDA 1 NPX 4 PER 12 SPO 22 TOTAL
>TOTALS: 2.64 6.72 2 KCG 7 NDA 1 NIA 2 NPX 10 PER
> 4 SPX 30 SPO 56 TOTAL

Would this be easier for others to compare with in the following form?

0900-1000 UT 0.91 6.89 1 PER 1 NDA 1 NPX 1 SPX 11 SPO 15 TOTAL
1000-1100 UT 0.88 6.70 5 PER 3 NDA 1 NIA 5 SPX 7 SPO 19 TOTAL
1100-1200 UT 0.85 6.56 4 PER 3 NDA 2 KCG 1 NPX 12 SPO 22 TOTAL
TOTALS: 2.64 6.72 10 PER 7 NDA 2 KCG 1 NIA
                             2 NPX 4 SPX 30 SPO 56 TOTAL

I appreciate your thoughts, and thanks for the feedback.

Lew
