Re: (meteorobs) Re: Kevin Kilkenny's OK

To My Friends,

I'm still here ;-) Just got home after 48 hrs of duty.
Thanks for the kind wishes, I appreciate them more than you know.

A war zone isn't even the right words, it was like a scene out of some post
apocaliptic movie. Soot and ash from the distinegrated concrete was 6-8
inches thick on the ground and everything else. Smoke (smelling like jet
fuel) so thick that you walk right into parked cars having never even seen
them. Fire rigs upended and blown down the street like they were toys. F16
fighter jets patrolling the skies all day. Really surreal.
Whole Fire Companies and even a whole Battalion were wiped out. Some never
even got the chance to get out of their rig when the bldg. came down on them.
I personally know of about two dozen friends that didn't make it. Even the
Engine Co. that we share quarters with was "missing" for 10 hours (they're
OK)
I'll leave other graphic images out but there are many many peole that are
still in there, and we should all pray for them. We'll find 'em.

Going to get some sleep now and get ready for a 24 hr shift in the morning...

Kev
