(meteorobs) an hour of Orionids in No. California

Hello meteor folks, from the chilly Sierra Nevada
Mts...

I managed only an hour of casual Orionid watching this
morning...I woulda spent more time watching and
recording meteors but a swarm of intestinal bugs were
clawing at my insides.

In spite of my miseries, it was a good hour, from 2:30
to 3:30 local time (9:30 to 10:30 UT). In that time I
counted 20 Orionids and 8 sporadics.

The sky was a magnificent, starry three-dimensional
backdrop to the meteors, limiting magnitude +6.5.
Maybe better.

All the Orionids seemed to display a train, if only
for a brief moment. The two brightest, both mag -2.0,
displayed trains of three seconds duration.

Hope the rest of you, sans intestinal bug swarming,
had a good night of swarming meteors...
