(meteorobs) Taurids raging (06/07 Nov 2001, Westford MA USA)




Under pristine skies before the moonrise this evening, a group of observers enjoyed one of the better meteor shows I've logged in early evening... The Taurids were very much in evidence right from the outset at 20:58 Local, as a long, lovely -0.5 STA was seen by all four meteor observers present!

(Among the colors noted for this meteor by our various witnesses present, were orange-yellow, blue, and white.) This was my own highlight of the night, though Rachel Aubuchon (AUBRA) saw some other brighties tonight, while keeping her eagle eyes pointed north for aurora...
