Bamm,
Just enjoy, you can get into the reporting later.  Have fun watch the meteor
showers and learn.  Don't try to make it work.  The most exciting
astronomical event in the skies is a meteor streaking across the
constellations.  If you want to keep records, just start out simple be
counting the number of meteors you see in a certain period, then after you
do this, later start trying to determine how bright they are compared with
the brightness of other stars.  Just don't get so involved in trying to be a
professional reporter or you will give up.  Have fun, everything else will
come to you.
