(meteorobs) results 10-11/11/01

Dear Leonid(storm) hunters,

As expected, again a clear night here in Belgium. However, there was more cirrus in the air. Temperatures were again just below zero degrees and the north wind made it all pretty raw.

Observing window between 21.50 UT and 02.30 UT. I stopped half an hour after the moonrise.

At last, I saw two early Leonids. Finally they are arrived !!!

Also a good Taurid activity, especially from the Northern branch. They will have their “maximum” around 13/11. This night I saw no spectacular Taurids. It were almost  faint ones with very short trails, in the surroundings of the radiant.

I noticed no special activity from the possible “Iota Aurigids”. Perhaps it is to early. But I will try to observe members of this possible new shower during our visual observing campaign in China. Normally we will start in the night of 15-16/11.
