(meteorobs) Re:Weather Prospects for Leonids in US



John Krempasky states that Texas and east N.M.  along with Florida and the
upper western coastal states do not have good weather  propects for this
weekend's Leonids.
I looked at the websites that make  the models that he recommended.
Thanks John for the heads up.  It is better to check out what may happen,
plan to drive as far as you can,instead of wishing for clear skies and sit
under clouds.  By Noon on Saturday most people can plan on driving to clear
skies with plenty of time to arrive at a destination before midnight.  That
gives 10-12 hours drive time.
It will be worth it if indeed we get the greatest meteor shower most of us
have ever seen.

Right now driving west looks to be a crapshoot.  But the models for
Mississippi (southern) look
very good, in fact the forecast right now for Saturday night is clear.

Click on the state you are interested in and the county, then read the
extended forecasts.
