RE: (meteorobs) HALWA 2001 NOV 16/17
By the way, I seem to be reporting a lot of bright ones, seems strange, but
I do have two other witnesses to the display we saw. Although they were not
recording data, they did see most of what I saw, and in fact one guy might
have a nice photo of one of the -4's. I hope so!!

Here's my full report on the night before the peak. The weather was
disappointing, but the Leonids were not. It threatened to be clear, but
this cirrus kept moving in and out, finally forcing me to take a break and
shift my field of view. The Leonids all occurred after 0848 (0348 local
time). Hourly rate was 5.7/Hr for last 1.23 hours; I was only expecting 4
or so considering the lousy skies. However, there were two -4 Fireballs, a
-3 , and a 0. Average magnitude was sub zero -0.38.
