(meteorobs) Leonid express report

From: "Dave Hostetter" <dehostetter@msisdot net>

Hi:

This is the report for two independent observers at the same site. My
meteors are indicated by "DH" and my 13 year old son James Hostetter's
meteors are indicated by "JH." James is a first time meteor observer -- in
addition to the meteors indicated below, he practiced observing by counting
45 meteors from 07:00-09:30 UT. The express report itself has been sent to
IMO.

Highlights of the evening included a fireball with a 2 minute trail, another
one with a 4 minute trail, and another (pulsing three times) that was
painfully bright at the height of the activity! Much brighter than the full
moon and briefly approaching daylight, judging by the shadows and lighting
of the landscape. Great show!

My son saw many meteeors that I did not. If I ever needed evidence of what
happens to the eyes as one ages....
