RE: (meteorobs) JERS-1 Satellite Info
To all, the long times of observation pretty much preclude this object
being a meteor, as minumum velocity of a meteor is 11 km/sec, about 7 miles
per second. Orbiting material travels about hal3/4 of that speed and slowly
decelarates as it grazes the upper layers of the atmosphere, wheras meteors
are sledom grazing (except for those early super Leonids!!

It might have just been a bolide, but my I'm beginning to think this may

been its reentry...
