Hi Dale,

It definitely did not seem to come from the sea or any terrestrial
direction.  I'd say the source  seemed to be directly overhead and
correspond simultaneously  to what I saw visually .  One interesting note,
is that I'm fairly certain that I began to hear the sizzle sound on one,
just a fraction of a second before I saw the meteor which appeared to be the
source.

Now understand, this sound was so faint and so similar to what a firework
(not exploding, but shooting skyward from a great distance) would sound,
that I initially discounted any possibility of it being real. So, I did
think it was coming from my head.
