(meteorobs) Re: Geminds/Earthgrazer Question



Tod and All,

Earthgrazers can occur with any shower. The stronger the shower the
better the opportunity to see this phenomena. While watching from the
Mojave Desert several years ago I was impressed by the number of Geminid
earthgrazers I saw just as it became dark. Mind you none of them were
fireballs but they were still all quite long and long-lasting. Even the
faint ones were impressive meteors!

The best time for folks in Miami to see these meteors would be near 7:15
pm local standard time. You won't see any from the downtown area as the
lights will spoil the show :(
