(meteorobs) Re: NWM2001Dec12/13 Geminids looking good

I saw 56 Geminids in the hour 426 - 526 EST (926 - 1026 UT) with sky LM7.3.
This is similar to 1985 when I was also over 50/hr the night before maximum.
Both times it's the year after a leap year. Makes sense that this would be
happening -- a few hours just before the peak period begins just west of
here. In 1985 I saw more than 1000 Geminids, first time for a 4-figure haul
from one display of a single shower. Timing was evidently just right to
have good rates for 3 straight nights then. Hopefully even Fri evening this
year will still be good.

Earlier hours last night were largely wiped out by variable and mostly
cloudy skies.
