The skies cleared here about 9:30 PM local time.

I went out about 1:45 and was greeted with skies as dark as you could hope for in the heart of this 'Metroplex' (as it is called here).

I didnt go through the rigorous evaluation but stars of 5th magnitude were evident. I was seeing Geminids at a rate of one per minute. I only observed for 30 min as my alarm is set for 5:45 AM. Most notable was a lengthy burn at mag -2.
