(meteorobs) observing reports of 15-16/2 and 09-10/3
Hello Huan and list,
Here you have my two last full meteor
observing reports.
Alas, the weather here in Belgium during the first
months of the year is often terrible for the stargazer.
Yes : video observations is a very
important factor to discover some new "possible" showers, especially
in this poorly observed period of the year.
After a couple years of meteor watching in this
part of the year, my opinion is that January, February and also the first half
of March are also very interesting and more than worth to spend some time on
meteor watching. Waiting from January to July is much to long for me
:-)
We have the Delta Cancrids in January,
suspicious activity in February in the surroundings of Serpens Cauda and
Corona Borealis, Viginids and Delta Leonids, and now : mid March ; we
should keep an eye on Ursa Major and Leo,...
So, the story will continue...
Next big target : the "eta Lyrids" or "Iras
Aracki Alcockids", active during the first half of may. Lyrids will suffer this
year from bad moonlight (and weather ??)
Best wishes,
Michel Vandeputte
