(meteorobs) Gamma Delphinid & June Bootid casual observations

Hi!

Just a short note on two recent (not IMO-worthy) observations. I observed
last night from my backyard for 0.25h teff (22:05-22:20UT) under sky LM5.7 with
the full Moon about 15-18 degrees above southeastern horizon to check for any
unusual activity from the June Bootids. I saw 0 meteors total.

The sky was clear but still a bit hazy. Had it been completely clear the LM
could have gone as deep as 6.0! This gives me some hope for good skies for the
Leonids! If you choose a location where the peak arrives just before dawn and
the Moon is low (and possibly a location at high elevation), the conditions for
the Leonids might still be fairly favourable.

I also observed for 0.5h teff just after local midnight (22:00UT) on July 11,
with sky LM6.5. I wanted to check for any unusal gamma Delphinid activity, but
saw none. I saw a total of 3 sporadic meteors.

I haven't been able to do any real observing for a long time now. We've had a
heat wave here with clear skies for over two weeks, but the sky was hazy and I
was busy with final exams and was therefore unable to observe.

Clear skies!
