(meteorobs) Professor John A. Russell

     While searching the web for papers on meteor spectroscopy I stumbled
 across the Newsletter of the University of Southern California, Physics
 and
 Astronomy, Vol 5, No.2, Fall 2001, part 7.  Reported, was the passing of
 this
 pioneer meteor spectroscopist at the age of 88.  Several years ago, I
 corresponded with Professor Russell about a paper he wrote in Sky &
 Telescope.  He in fact encouraged my interest again in meteor spectroscopy
