(meteorobs) comet 57P -breakup

hi- As a extreme novice in this field, I came across an article today about
the comet C57P which has apparently broken up into many pieces. See the
link:
http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/07/25/comet.crumble/index.html

I was wondering... is there any chance that the earth might pass through this
debris?... and if so when (would it take 1000s of years)? If the earth did
pass soon, would it be a spectucular show?

thanks for any help in this matter-
