(meteorobs) Bryter Layter...

...that's what meteorologists forecasted on 12th of August, and unfortunately
they were right. Clouds disappeared in the evening, but came back at night,
before observation was possible. On 13th they played exactly the same trick
on me. Finally, yesterday night was the best post-peak observing I could do
this year, and it was still quite nice. This is my observation report:

Comments: My cassette recorder was on strike in the first 15
minutes, that's why the first period is only 0.75 teff.
Unfortunately, this is the best Perseid observation I could
do this year, being clouded out on 12th and 13th. The
Perseid activity rose continuously and so did the radiant.
Best meteor of the evening was a -5 Perseid fireball,
leaving a train for 5 seconds. While its peak seemed white,
it left a red glow. Also nice was a 0.5 Sporadic, looking
like a point (no glowing train).
Both Kappa Cygnids were also very enjoyable because of
their slowness. A Perseid-Triplett (3 meteors within a few
seconds from the same radiant and with nearly the same
direction) around 0:10 UT made the Perseids be more active
than all Sporadics. Kappa Cygnid activity is increasing,
after no observable activity on 8th.
