(meteorobs) clear dark sky, for north florida ???

IN THE NORTH FLORIDA AREA - CENTRAL TO PANHANDLE - CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND AN  EASILY ACCESSIBLE DARK AREA?  I'LL BE DRIVING UP FROM STUART/JUPITER, 'CAUSE THE CLOUD FORCAST MAPPING INDICATES THAT OUR AREA WILL BECOME SOCKED IN FOR 19th OBSERVING.

THANKS, AND CLEAR SKIES

As you make final plans for travel to watch the Leonids, don't forget to consult the Clear Sky Clock web site to find an incredibly accurate cloud and transparency forecasts for astronomical purposes in North America.  A seeing forecast has been added recently, but I have not used it enough to know how accurate it is.  The cloud forecast is better than anything I have ever seen.

There were some postings on this list recently about the possible termination of support by the Canadian government for the data collection that is used to generate the clear sky clocks. The crisis has been averted. You can read about it on Atilla Danko's site at http://cleardarksky.com/csk/news.html

Of course, clear skies.
