(meteorobs) Leonid Observations peak A
Good Evening/Morning
Well, the weather was iffy all day, though the sun did shine and it was warm, by the
evening towards time for the first peak, the clouds did roll back in and high cirrus
with transparency at an all time low.
However, we did bundle up with our hats, mitts, sleeping bags and did try to observe
peak A. There was three of us , with two of us remaining for the full hour of
observing.
Our starting time was 3:56 UT, and we waited. The temperature was -5.5 C.
In the our 1.5 hours that we were out , we managed to see 5 Leonids, combined.
Most were yellow/white fast with 20-25 degree trains.
These will be noted and sent in for observing data.
With Peak B, we will try again.
Just to let you know, I live in Yarker, Ontario, Canada. Yesterday we had a snow
storm with about 15 cm of snow. Tommorrow will go up to plus 5 and rain...go
figure ....welcome to the great white north.
