Re: (meteorobs) Geminid Report

Anybody see a beautiful mag -4 earth grazer at approximately 0351 UT Sunday
15 December (Saturday evening 1051 EST in the states?) I was driving. I
turned to the east just as this beauty streaked across the eastern sky south
of Orion. It swept through southern Monoceros, just south of Procyon and
flared a bit as it burned out just south of Cancer.

This one was visible for 8-10 seconds and since I was in the Jeep I could
not detect a persistent train. I don't believe it was a Gem because of it's
trajectory.

I've not observed the Geminids because they normally occur during a ham
radio contest in which I usually participate. Although we did make several
radio contacts using meteor bursts.

Location was just south of Louisville, KY. Approximately 85 w, 38 n.
