(meteorobs) Using a PC23C (Re-post)
I'm reposting the material below because I was somehow disconnected from the list around the time I
posted it yesterday. If there were any responses I missed them. I think my problem was incorrect
focusing. However, if anyone wants to comment on the use of the PC23c or the video card, that's
fine.)
Well, it's been awhile since I fired up the PC23C for any use, but I decided to try my hand at shoot
stars instead of the moon with a simple lens attached to the video camera. I used a 16mm camera
lens. They actually have a c-mount thread, so no adapter is needed. I tried it out on Sirius and
Jupiter last night. I'm using a Hauppauge video card. I could not see anything in the field. As I
recall from some many months ago, the PC23C and other similiar SuperCircuit cameras was used to
shoot 4-6 mag stars and maybe fainter. Is this really possible?
