This is sad news indeed. On behalf of the Hawke's Bay Astronomy Society, New
Zealand, I wish to express our deepest sympathies to those who have lost
family, friends, and property.
The loss of  Mt. Stromlo is tragic to those in the astronomy world. While
thankfully no staff have been lost, the damage will take years to undo. Our
thoughts are with you all, and we hope that life can return to some sort of
normality in the very near future.
