(meteorobs) Many thanks

Thank you for allowing us to air our views on off topic subjects at this time, such as
the Columbia Shuttle tragedy.  I am certain that it has helped most of us deal better with both the shock and grief.

Chris :)

What is 'meteorobs'?

Email list 'meteorobs', and this Web site, are dedicated to discussions relating to meteor astronomy and observing. The 'meteorobs' list is an open forum for amateur astronomers at all levels (and the professionals whose research they provide data to) to share their knowledge, interest, and observations of meteors. ("Meteor" is a scientific name for falling star, the bursts of light which are produced when a dust particle, also called a "meteoroid", enters the earth's atmosphere.)

The email mailing list 'meteorobs' was originally designed as a way for members (and prospective members) of the North American Meteor Network to communicate with each other via email. Since then, it has grown to include participants representative of the entire amateur community, and has served as a "neutral forum" for airing a very wide variety of views.
