Sorry to ask an off topic question but I'm not a physics person and I'll bet
some of you are. Latest news about the destruction of the space shuttle talk
about a 'torch of plasma'. Could some of you brilliant people explain, in layman
terms, what this means? I'm a biologist and plasma has an entirely different
meaning!
