(meteorobs) Scientists Looking For More Park Forest Bolide Videos

"One question, I know nothing about orbit data, but I
must assume that with so many camera angles that
caught this fireball on tape, that this meteorite
should be one with a known orbit! Is this the case?
 -- Mike Farmer"

Very good question Mike.

Several researchers have contacted me begging for
video and still camera images of the fireball. They
said that they are very close to determining an orbit
but that they have seen very few images or videos!

They asked me if anyone was spear-heading the recovery
of fireball data? I had to tell them that, being a
geologist, I was following closely the efforts of the
geologists in the field, and that I had made the
assumption that at least one of the numerous
astronomers in the Chicago area would be following up
on the recovery of fireball data. But as of yet, I
haven't heard of any effort, let alone any results, in
regards to this matter.

So, if anyone has any images or videos of this bolide,
PLEASE contact this researcher:

According to Peter, an orbital determination is close
at hand! He doubts that any amount of strewn field
data will refine this determination. But the next
image or video of this fireball that is sent to him,
may very well supply the missing component that is
needed to determine this orbit!

With best regards,
Bob V.

P.S. - OKAY, I just saw Charlie Devine's post -
luckily before I sent this one - so there is a local
astronomer that is attempting to retrieve data, too:

Well, the situation is even worse today. Several new
dealers have show up, desperate for specimens and
finding that the buying price is well over $12 gram,
and they are offering more to get a specimen. so this
price is rising further, out of control, so many
people searching the streets today, it looks like day
of the living dead with people walking over every
piece of open ground, head down searching.
I acquired a couple more pieces today, not much.
Tonight I saw an individual, very nice, I am working
on getting it. We'll see. I might leave tomorrow, or
Tuesday, I hunted all day with no luck.

One question, I know nothing about orbit data, but I
must assume that with so many camera angles that
caught this fireball on tape, that this meteorite
should be one with a known orbit! Is this the case?
