(meteorobs) Coma Berenicid Meteors Seen!

Possible Meteors from Coma Berenicid Meteorite Radiant Seen!

The sky was clear and I was able to get a good hour of meteor observation
in before clouds moved in on April 5/6, 2003 at Screech Owl Hill Observatory,
Mountain Meadows West Virginia. However, the meteor activity was surprising
good for that hour, which included three possible candidates from the putative
meteorite radiant in Coma Berenices, thought to be associated with the Pribram
and Neuschwanstein meteorite Falls. Although the speeds of all three candidate
meteors seen was slow, the radiant appeared to be ~ RA 180.0 Dec +21.0, rather
than the predicted RA 192.3 Dec +18.5. Interestyingly, all three candidates
were seen within the nine minute period from 4:26 to 4:35 UT. Below is a brief
breakdown of those and other meteors seen. The asteroid Vesta was also seen
with the naked-eye at around 6.1 magnitude. It was an asteroidal night indeed.
