Re: (meteorobs) Persistent meteor trains

  Hi Daniel!

Mine was a Kappa Cygnid too. A red -1m one, which broke up into 2
pieces, each one with its red persistent train that lasted at least 15
seconds. It was the summer of 1999.

The longest train was from a leonid earthgrazer, in the leonid
semi-storm of 2001, with radiant about to rise, it covered around 90º
degrees along the horizon in about 5-6 seconds.

Clear skies and good luck with eta-aquarids!
