(meteorobs) Observing report July4-5 from Hawaii

Greetings All,

With a very transparent and relatively cloud free night approaching, I opted to observe the celestial fireworks over the terrestrial ones... from our usual dark sky site on Oahu's north shore. Actually, I should have spent more time meteor observing rather than variable stars and comets because there seemed to be surprisingly good activity. Nothing very bright, but an unusually higher rate of SPO? (A previous thread seemed to be questioning that too, so its interesting coincidence?) 2 of them were a dazzling electric blue color, shooting south from the Cygnus area. The only other activity was a typical number of ANT/SAG and apex meteors. No CAP or PEG were seen.

Aloha & Clear skies,
Mike
