(meteorobs) Re:Fireball reporting.



    When reporting a fireball don't forget to include your contact
information, email address, phone number, location, time of the event with
time zone, standard or daylight time.
    Since directions are often not accurate state if the fireball was moving
"left-to-right" or "right-to-left".  This lets the investigator know if he
has observers on both sides of the track.  This is important, as if all
observers are on the same side, a triangulation is not possible.  If you
have a compass, by all means provide directions, indicating if these are
magnetic or true.  Some sort of clinometer or protractor can be used to
provide the elevation of the start and end points of the fireball.  A simple
and in-expensive device is a roofer slope measuring bubble level protractor.
These cost a few dollars.  One person has to read the scale while the other
does the sighting.  It is also useful to measure the slope of the path with
this device.
