(meteorobs) 7/26 AM E Central KS observation (MATBE)



Was back at my usual site at Rutlader, KS for this
observation session.  Had to make do with lesser zenithal
star mag.s, as heat/humidity and proximity to the KC metro
area kept z.s. down to 6.45.

0118-0248 local Central Time 7/25-26/03  (July 26th AM)
0618-0748 UT 7/26/03

Site - Rutlader, KS Louisburg Middle Creek Lake, North end.
Meteors Seen - 20
Facing FOV - 60 degrees SSE both time segments.
Zenithal Star:  +6.45 thruout period
Observing method - Notepad without looking down.
Total Time - 1:30
Total Meteors Seen - 20
3 SDA, 1 NDA, 3 PER, 1 Alpha CAP, 9 Spor. & 3 Spor. from
Aquila.

0118-0218AM - 2 SDA, 2 PER, 4 Spor., 3 Spor from Aquila.
0218-0248AM - 1 SDA, 1 NDA, 1 PER, 1 Alpha CAP,  5 Spor.

NOTES - Continuing activity from near Altair.  Perseids have
also been pleasantly active with long-tracked meteors in the
zenith and to the S the past couple of sessions.  No meteor
over mag. +1.5 this session, that one was a S Delta Aq.
The only Alpha Capricornid was a short +3 fragmenting one.

Heat has been oppressive in the Midwest the past 3 days,
forecast to break tomorrow with a minor cold front, the
temp. was a balmy +76 F with a 10-15 MPH breeze out of
the S over the lake during the watch.
