(meteorobs) August 07/08, 2003 meteor observation from Slovenia

After two cloudy nights I could observe again on Thursday night.
As I arrived to Pokojisce the Moon was just setting in the
southwest. I started just before 1 AM local time and observed for
just over 2 hours teff under LM 6.4 skies
In my fifth observing night in August I finally saw fireballs in my teff.
The first was a magnitude -3 Kappa Cygnid low in the southwest at
23h26m UT. The second fireball was the last meteor in my teff.
This great magnitude -3 sporadic fireball started at the border of
Cetus/Taurus and travelled past Aries, Andromeda, Cassiopeia and
Capheus all the way to the border with Draco. Its path covered
about 80 degrees and the train lasted for 2 seconds. What a great
way to finish the night!
The Perseids were the most active shower with 20 meteors,
outnumbered only by sporadics with 21 meteors. Also active were
the Southern Dela Aquarids, Northern Delta Aquarids and te Kappa
Cygnids.

Clear skies!
Javor
