(meteorobs) Perseids etc.
Looks like the Perseids are a washout on Vancouver Island. Cloudy
yesterday and rain showers this morning. Actually, these rain showers are a
"welcomed" event on the west coast. We have had some serious forest fires
on the mainland with several homes burnt and several thousand evacuated out
of harms way. They are finally being allowed to go home and check their
losses. We could use heavy rains for a few days, "without" lightning, to
reduce the fire hazards. I understand that parts of Europe are experiencing
the same problems. I wish everyone well.
