(meteorobs) Aug 12/13 Perseids

Hi,

observations made by Rita Verhoef , Arnold Tukkers, Remco Scheepmaker,
Sietse Dijkstra and me doesn't show higher activity of (at least) brighter
meteors around 0h UT.
We observed near Osnabruck (Germany) (7o42'E / 52o15'N) under 'meager'
conditions : LM = 4.9 at best. This means we were not able to detect the
faint meteors of +4 / +5 m , so higher activity of faint(er) meteors cannot
be excluded.
Activity in general was to our opinion a bit less than normal so close to
the maximum, but once again: faint meteors were hardly, or not visible at
all due to the Moon.
Our observations started under partly cloudy conditions at 20:44 UT and
ended between 00:29 (JOHCA) and 01:00 UT (DIJKSI / SCHRE).
After ~23:00 UT skies were completely clear.
Below are my data:

Night: 12/13 - 8 2003
Location: Ibbenburen (Germany)
7o42E / 52o15' N
Centre: 20h / +70 at 00:00 UT
Observer : Carl Johannink (JOHCA)

2214-2259 UT 0,75 Teff 9P;1sp ; LM=4,9 ; 15% clouds
2259-2344 UT 0,75 Teff 8P;3sp ; LM=4,9
2344-0029 UT 0,75 Teff 12P;1sp ; LM=4,8

Maybe there is higher activity around 00:20 UT (see the 15min.-intervals
below), but this can be 'a coincidence' also.

15 minutes counts around 0h UT:
23:44-23:59 UT 3 PER ; 23:59-00:14 UT 3 PER ; 00:14-00:29 UT 6 PER

Magnitudes:

PER -3(2) ; -2(1) ; -1(1) ; 0(4) ; +1(5) ; +2(5) ; +3(8) ; +4(3) ; mean 1.45

SPOR +2(1) ; +3(5) ; mean 2.83
