(meteorobs) Perseid peak observation from Velenje, Slovenia (ATAJU)

Hi!

I observed the Perseid peak from my backyard. I started in the evening
twilight, at 21:14 local and observed one hour, before the Moon got too high. I
was facing northeast, with constant 20% obstruction. The sky was ok, with
LM5.5. Nothing really notable happened, I saw 10 meteors, two of them being
Perseids. One was a nice 0 mag orange meteor close to the radiant. I then went
for a nap, that was supposed to last until 23hUT. Yeah right... I didn't hear
(!!) the alarm clock and I woke up at 00:50UT, about an hour and a half before
dawn. So much for any outbursts around 00UT. When I came out into the backyard
it was almost as bright as daytime! Luckily the Moon was behind the roof
already and the northeast was the darkest part of the sky. In 1.13h teff I saw
24 meteors, 22 of them being Perseids. No fireballs, only a -2. mag orange PER
close to the radiant.

The summary:
Period teff F LM PER AQU CAP KCG Spor
19:24-20:38UT 1.05 1.21 5.45 8 0 0 0 2
01:11-02:29UT 1.13 1.21 5.62 22 0 0 0 2

Magnitude distribution:
PER: -2(1) -1(2.5) 0(4.5) +1(3.5) +2(11.5) +3(5) +4(2)
Spor: 0(1) +1(0.5) +2(1.5) +3(1)

Clear skies!
Jure A.
