Hi fellow meteor observers,
Last year ; I was already able to observe the whole
declining peak between the Perseid max night and 18
august. Again this year, we are very lucky with the wetter
witch gave me the opportunity to
observe almost the whole rising branch from this splendid
meteor shower.
Please enjoy my other august observations witch gives a nice
view on the slow rise of Perseid activity towards the peak.

Remarks
- Short observation session in the dark Belgian Ardennes. Lm 6.8 in
Pegasus (even 6.9-7.0 in the zenith). But during this night a weak
convergention line produced some thunderstorms above Belgium. Many clouds (Ac
and Sc). Only between 00.00 - 00.55 I was able to hold a meteor watch. Besides
; I came back to this place for the Perseid maximum.
-Perseids were quiet active. Highlight ; a - 3 Perseid at 00.48 UT.

-Difficult conditions during the first hours (very hazy, full moon).
After 00 UT much better (inflow of dry air from France resulting in high LM's
despites the full moon). Some Ac clouds interfered the observing session
during the last two intervals.

- ZHR : 12.02 august : 42+-9 / 12.10 august : 33+-6
Note ; for all ZHR calculations : no personal correction factor. Gamma :
1.00 and r value : 2.5 for the Perseids.
