(meteorobs) Power outages -> Limiting magnitude?

Hello,

Here's just a silly idea, that popped up while talking with Lew about
today's power outage events... It could be very interesting if residents
living in the north/east of the United States could estimate their limiting
magnitude tonight, and compare this with usual values... This may give us
an idea of the influence the light pollution caused by New York (for
example) has on the wide area (e.g. 50 miles away from NY?)

Analysing this data would obviously be impossible, because of the moon and
variable moisture... But it may be a fun experiment for
meteorobs-subscribers living in the north/east part of the US, or people in
Canada?

Kind regards,
Geert
