REMARKS:
Hello,
Meteor #33 I will not soon forget! I marked it as a -6 magnitude but it may well have been brighter. It lit up everything around me!
This is exciting to me, I tried some radio observing into my 4th interval during this Perseid night.
I waited until 1000UT (3amLDT) when the meteors seemed to be coming in more steadily and started recording on 94.0 FM with the antenna pointed north @ 45° angle.
The first one I recorded was Meteor # 56 on my visual report and I continued to observe both ways simultaneously.
As of right now I'm unclear on how to report from my radio observations but will try to figure that out and submit something soon.
It was easy to set up a radio and fun to hear the meteors as I recorded the visual data.
This added a new dimension to the session and I recommend you folks try it out, too..
Clear skies,
-SID!
